Welcome to Alaska Navigate!

It’s no secret that State Navigate has been eager to open our doors in Alaska.

Alaska is easily the most interesting state in the country for state governance. Its high concentration of truly independent voters, usage of ranked-choice voting, and the coalition governments that form in The Last Frontier are arguably closer to European-style politics than American.

The folks who have worked toward this launch also deepen State Navigate’s bipartisan connections in the state. Thanks to our bipartisan connections, we were able to get 10% of the Alaska legislature to follow our X Account, making an Alaska launch a high priority.

From Ketchikan to Utqiagvik, Alaskans everywhere now have easy access to various data on the Alaska state government, including lists of candidates and their social media/websites, detailed precinct-level election data by district (including results by ranked choice rounds), every donation received and expenditure made by a candidate’s campaign, and curated latest news from across the political spectrum. Next year, we hope to add more for Alaskans to navigate, including our features available in Virginia and South Carolina, where users can see the ideology of their legislators and see every floor rollcall vote of relevance.

We appreciate the patience of our users in getting Alaska Navigate out: our original plan was to release on November 8th, but the work that needed to be done in Virginia and New Jersey delayed this launch. The team would like to thank those who make our work possible: our donors. Thank you for helping us keep the lights on as State Navigate continues its national expansion going forward. If you, dear reader, would like to become an integral part of State Navigate’s mission, you can make a tax-deductible donation to our nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit below.

For comments, questions and concerns, and/or inquiries about how to send large donations/grants to State Navigate, please feel free to contact our Executive Director, Chaz Nuttycombe.

Yours in service,

The team at State Navigate
