Welcome to Wisconsin Navigate!

This month, State Navigate began Phase III in development. Thanks to the nine months of work completed in Phase II, the framework that South Carolina, Virginia, and Utah helped build has helped hasten the process of launching in the remaining states.

Our plan in Phase III is to churn out the bare minimum needed for state launches so we can get the essential data that users will need ahead of the midterms: candidate data (pictures, social media, campaign finance, websites), district and precinct election data, demographic data, state news aggregation, and homepages.

Wisconsin Navigate is the first of the State Navigate family to launch in Phase III, and contains all of the aforementioned data. After we launch in 40 states, we’ll begin the process of adding the other data to Wisconsin and the other upcoming state launches, including WNOMINATE ideology and floor rollcalls, legislator profiles, bill sponsorships, and committees.

This is the first state we’ve launched in that is considered a “swing state” in the Electoral College, having voted for Trump in 2016 and 2024 and Biden in 2020. Other swing states are high in our priority thanks in part to the support we have from incumbents who follow our X account, including Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and more.

We’ll be doing outreach this month to incumbents on both sides of the aisle to inform them of Wisconsin Navigate, and listen to their ideas and feedback to prove user experiences for themselves, professionals, and voters across the state.

We’d like to thank those that make State Navigate possible: our generous donors. Big or small, every penny counts toward expanding nationally, shining a light on state governments for every voter to see. If you’d like to chip in to support our expansion to other states, there’s no better time than the present!

For comments, questions and concerns, and/or inquiries about how to send large donations/grants to State Navigate, please feel free to contact our Executive Director, Chaz Nuttycombe.

Yours in service,

The team at State Navigate
